CMS SolutionsWhat is a CMS?A CMS, or content management system, is a type of web-site that places the tools of creating, updating and managing content in the hands of the client, (i.e. You). This means that you're not required to get in touch with us every time you want a new image uploading, a news article adding, or a page removing - you are in complete control of the content. Now, some clients will relish this idea, whilst some would prefer a degree of separation from the technical aspects of content management - each to their own we say. As a result we provide this service for those that want it, whilst still providing a more traditional model of managing content ourselves, on behalf of clients, for those that don't.
Is it hard to use?If you can use a word processor, then at it's most basic level, we'd say no. Of course, like most things computer-oriented, you are really only limited by the amount of time and effort you wish to put into learning the tools! In general, any computer-literate member of staff would be able to manage the site for you, especially combined with a support contract from us. In addition, we're able to provide training to you and your company staff so that everyone can contribute to articles, blogs, polls, etc. Simply ask for details when enquiring with us.
Does this mean everyone's web-site looks the same?Certainly not. With a choice between a bespoke design, or a template-based solution, you can ensure that your site stands out from the crowd. Of course, your content will go a long way to ensuring this, but we by no means provide "stock" sites to clients - each site will be tailored to your requirements.
I'm, not sure - it sounds complicated...Well, don't worry - we're more than happy to set-up a free demo of the tool-set, so you can see for yoursel f what's involved - we're pretty sure you'll see that it's all fairly intuitive. If you're still not happy, then we can just go ahead and create the site for you, and manage it for you whilst you get on with your business. Of course, there's going to be small charges when you want changes, but you can be sure your sites in safe hands.
Actually, I like it - what do I do next?Well, get in touch. We'll outline the process required to get started, identify any training opportunities, and establish whether a support contract might be useful. After this, we'll get the basic site set-up, ready for you to take over and begin creating.
