What is Copy Writing?

A good web-site is all about content, but not everyone's a literary genius.  It can sometimes be tricky getting your proposition across in a way that encourages customers to buy, not because the product is poor, it's just difficult to frame it succinctly.  That's where a copy writer comes in.  By understanding your product or service range, a good copy writer can express the benefits in a way that entices customers to try, for example, a new product out.  Not only that, a good copy writer that specialises in on-line marketing can also introduce SEO concepts into the text, ensuring it gets read by the maximum number of people.  In short, a copy writers role is to use the written word to present your product, service or company in the best possible light.

 

Why do I need someone else to do this?

You may not - if you've got a clear idea of how best to express your offering, then a copy writer may be unnecessary.  If however, writing copy is not your forte, or you simply don't have time to create a great blurb about your product or service, then maybe a copy writer is a good investment.

 

Sounds good - costs extra though?

It does yes, but again, the initial cost should be outweighed by on-going improvements in sales, caused by excellent copy and embedded SEO features.
